Founding of a purchasing centre by 12 pharmacists under the name “Collaboration Pharmaceutique SA”.
1932
Head office moves to Berne, with the company named Galenica AG.
1957
Founding of Galenica Vertretungen AG. Sales promotion of foreign specialities for physicians. Acquisition of Panpharma AG – sales promotion of pharmaceutical articles for pharmacies.
1972
Founding von Adima AG – sales promotion of cosmetic articles.
1977-1987
Takeover of industrial companies in the areas of pharmaceutical specialities and hospital requirements.
1991-1993
Hospital requirements segment dropped. Concentration on developing and producing consultative drugs and medicines plus iron preparations.
1999
Galenica and Alliance Unichem decide to establish their own chain of pharmacies under the name “GaleniCare”.
2003
Around 100 pharmacies and drug stores in German-speaking and western Switzerland, including minority holdings, belong to the GaleniCare Group.
Future
GaleniCare intends to be actively involved in shaping the future of the deregulated, rapidly changing Swiss pharmaceutical market. GaleniCare’s aim is to be a stamp of quality for customers, guaranteeing them high-quality services.
